Our most popular historical program is back at the Goldstream Nature House! Experience gold rush fever as an authentic prospector jumps right out of history into Goldstream Park and recounts the tales of the BC Gold Rush. This Gold Rush of the 19th Century conceived the province of British Columbia and laid the foundation for the development that followed; making this an important subject for Social Studies. One of a few women who defied the conventions of their time to become gold prospectors, Goldstream's Prospector is now defying the laws of time to meet your class! She will recount stories from the "Golden" days, demonstrate the use of gold panning equipment and lead the studens in a gold panning pursuit for Fool's gold.
Cost: $5.00+HST per student MINIMUM charge per class= $125.00 + GST
This program has always been a favourite with grades 3 to 7 but we have now successfully adapted the program for older students up to Grade 11.
We are also available to bring a slightly modified version of this program to you!!! If you are unable to make it out to the Park but would like to inject some historical gold rush fever into your classroom, our Prospector has already travelled through time so making a trip to your school is easy!
If you would like to register for one of these programs in February or March, please contact us directly.
