Check out some examples of programs we offer:

Amazing Horne Lake Race
What would you do to win the amazing race? Students will find themselves racing their way around Horne Lake Regional Park! A series or tasks, challenges, and u-turns will have students doing some of the wackiest things imaginable! Not just an “Amazing Race” our challenges will include elements of “Fear Factor” “Survivors” and some good old “game show” style questions!

Running Wild! Orienteering: Horne Lake Style!

What does it mean: “Never Eat Shredded Wheat” and “Red in the Shed”? It will make way more sense after you participate in Running Wild, Horne Lake Regional Park’s very own orienteering course! Students will get hands on practice to learn compass basics and after a quick teamwork challenge, it will be up to the teams of students to navigate their way around Horne Lake Regional Park – taking a wrong turn will lead them off course and slow them down! They will have to stay on track to make it to the finish line in time!!

            Duration:        2 hours

            Cost:                $19+ GST per Student

Survivors Sampler! Wilderness Skills
Survivors is one of our most popular multi-day programs run in many of the parks on Vancouver Island. For shorter durations, we have taken some samples of our challenges to give you a taste of a day in the life of Survivors Horne Lake. Save it! Share it! Sustain it! Surviving in the wild requires knowledge, skills and stewardship. We will delve into ethnobotany, traditional fire starting and how to stay safe if you find yourself truly needing to survive and wait for help to arrive.

            Duration:        2-7 hours

Cost:                $19+ GST per Student/2 hours
